1) Explain why the areas of the shaded regions are the same.

In the rectangle below, the length is 3cm more than the width. The perimeter is 12cm.

3) Masha has two bags each of which contains the same number of sweets. She eats four sweets. She then found that she has 30 sweet left. How many sweet were there in each bag to start with?

4)  Moshi bought eight garden chairs, when he got the bill he used a $10 voucher as part of the payment. His final bill was $56.

a) Set this problem up as an equation using c as the cost of one chair.

b) Solve the equation to find the cost of one chair.

5) A rectangular room is 3m longer than its width and the perimeter is 16m. Floor tiles cost 9 dollars per square meter.  How much will it cost to cover the floor with tiles?
