Lesson 7 – Ordering Fractions

Objective:

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to arrange fractions in an ascending or descending order.

NOTE:

Ordering fractions involves arranging a given set of fractions in a particular order. Fractions can be ordered in ascending order (i.e. from smallest fraction to the biggest fraction). They can also be ordered in descending order (i.e. from the biggest fraction to the smallest fraction).

When ordering fractions, you compare each of the fractions given to know which fraction is the biggest, which is bigger, which is small, etc.

This is done by using the same rules for comparing fractions in the previous lesson.
