Lesson 7- Dividing 3, 4 & 5-Digit Numbers By A 2-Digit Number

Objectives:

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Divide 3-digit numbers by a 2-digit number using long division.
  • Divide 4-digit numbers by a 2-digit number using long division.
  • Divide 5-digit number by a 2-digit number using long division.

When dividing by a 2 – digit divisor, the dividend is divided by taking 2 – digits at a time. Sometimes you may have to take 3 digits if the first two digits make a number that is less than the divisor.
