At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

- Read and write numbers in figures up to 9999.
- Know the number of digits in a given number.

A number in the **thousands** should have **four digits.** Examples are 4007, 3981, 7050, 2120, 1000, etc.

A number in the **hundreds** should have **three digits**. Examples are 450, 631, 900, 800, etc.

A number in **tens** should have **two digits**. Examples are 45, 63, 10, 20, 15, etc.

__Example 1__

**Write the following numbers in figures.**

- One thousand nine hundred and five =
**1905** - Twenty nine = 29
- One thousand two hundred and five = 1205
