Lesson 1- Comparing Numbers

OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lessons, students should be able to;

  • Compare two or more numbers.
  • Use the <,> and = signs correctly.

 

In working with numbers, we add, subtract, divide and multiply. In the same way numbers can be compared. In comparing numbers, the signs ( ) are used.

“ <”    means    “Less than”

“>”     means   “Greater than”

“=”     means   “Equal to”

Examples

701 < 801 means 701 is less than 801.

801  > 701 means 801 is greater than 701.

801 = 801 means 801 is equal to 801.
