Lesson 1: Addition Of Whole Numbers

Objective:

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to add numbers with several digits together.

When adding numbers with several digits, the normal rules of simple addition are applied.

STEP 1:

Arrange the numbers vertically according to their place value.

STEP 2:

Add the digits from right to left. When the sum of the digits is ‘10’ or more, carry the excess to the next place value.
